I'm Sharon Schackmann, Palestine School District's Speech Language Pathologist. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I am licensed by the state of Illinois, as well as our profession's national organization, The American Speech- Language Hearing Association. I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 7 years, and I love what I do!
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I will assess your child's articulation and language skills to determine if they qualify for speech therapy. I write individualized, relevant goals related to the Common Core state standards for each student on my caseload.

I also serve as our district's Special Education Coordinator. This means that I am the face of our IEP team and will be the one leading your child's IEP meeting. I field all questions related to special education services for our district.
If you have any questions regarding your child's IEP or concerns with their speech/language skills, contact me at sharon.schackmann@palestine-pioneers.net or by calling 618-586-2711.
